 A department may send its own handler and dog both having received prior training from another source through a six week handler course. The officer’s dog must pass the ACLEOTC selection test. The team receives training five (5) days per week. This course includes both classroom and practical field work. ACLEOTC can also provide training seminars which are sponsored by a Law Enforcement Agency in their respective city or state. Tuition and fees for Format II, include all instruction, use of equipment, textbooks, kenneling and board of the officer’s dog. See Format I, Dual Purpose, for sessions.
