Dual Purpose Handler, Format I E-mail
Dual Purpose Handler TrainingACLEOTC pre-trains a suitable police dog. This dog will be trained to meet specifications for a police service dog and the specifications for a narcotics detection dog. The department then sends its officer through a six (6) to eight (8) week handler course. The course runs five (5) days per week. This allows for the handler to complete the course early if he has had prior canine experience. This course includes classroom and practical field work. Format I is inclusive of the purchase of the dog, pre-training, all instruction, use of equipment, textbooks, kenneling and board for the officer’s dog. The total cost of Format I , includes tuition and fees. In order to guarantee enrollment in this course ACLEOTC must receive a check for one-half of the price eight weeks prior to the first day of class. The remaining price will be due the first day of class.
